Petrina joined Cuming and Gillespie as an associate in 2014, after spending a number of years in Ontario.

In 2013, Petrina obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa and completed her articles in Toronto at a top plaintiff personal injury firm. After becoming licensed, Petrina continued to work as an associate in plaintiff personal injury.

Petrina’s practice at Cuming and Gillespie is dedicated to personal injury and medical malpractice work. Petrina is passionate about helping families and individuals navigate the legal process and knows the difference compassionate legal counsel can make when helping families who are dealing with the aftermath of medical malpractice.

Petrina’s involvement and interest in medical malpractice claims has grown considerably after starting with Cuming and Gillespie, and continues to grow. In her practice, Petrina has appeared before Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, the Alberta Court of Appeal, and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. In addition to her courtroom advocacy, Petrina has advocated for clients in a number of mediations and judicial dispute resolutions.

Petrina sits on the board of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Calgary Bar Association, and the Association of Women Lawyers.
